Meet Sivan

SIVAN GABAY, RM
I was called to midwifery many years ago, in Montreal, Quebec. Initially I worked as a midwife's assistant in a birth center, and a non profit organization that offered doula services to new immigrants. I was then accepted into the University of British Columbia's first-ever cohort of the Bachelor of Midwifery Program in 2002. I had the incredible opportunity to learn in a vast array of different environments, including an international placement in Zambia with my UBC instructor and mentor Cathy Ellis. I feel greatly indebted to all the knowledgeable mentors I have learned with over the years.
After graduating, I worked in a busy urban practice in Calgary, Alberta for five years before settling in Cranbrook, B.C to raise my 2 children and work in a rural practice for 14 years. More recently I have been doing locum work in and around the Kootenays and am now delighted to be settling in the Comox Valley. I am honoured to work with such an amazing team here.
In my free time, I love to be outside, exploring the natural world, writing, and playing with many different creative endeavors!
