Meet Lauren
LAUREN BAERG, MD
Providing perinatal care is by far the most rewarding part of my practice as a family physician. Pregnancy and newborn care are such special but vulnerable times and I feel privileged to be a part of each of your unique experiences. I am excited to be working alongside this wonderful group of perinatal providers and the Cedar House Birth Collective.
I’ve lived on the island most of my life. Growing up in Campbell River, I came to appreciate the value of living in a smaller community. I went to university in Victoria for my undergraduate degree and then to medical school in Vancouver at UBC. I quickly returned to the island to complete my family practice residency program in Nanaimo and graduated in 2018. Since then, I have settled in the Comox Valley and am grateful to live and work on the unceded territory of the K’omoks First Nation. It is a special place to live and I do my best not to take it for granted.
I work as a family doctor at Town Circle Medical Clinic and have a wonderful panel of patients that see me for primary care. This work fills my cup and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to grow as a provider. Birth and newborn care have always been passions of mine and are key parts of my current practice. I will continue to work in my family practice alongside working with the Cedar House Birth Collective and am excited for the ways in which these types of work compliment each other.
When I am not at work, you’ll find me in the mountains or on the ocean. I love spending time outdoors hiking or kayaking. This keeps my mind clear and allows me to continue to be present in my home life and at work.
I am looking forward to meeting you and learning with you.
